- Q?What is the cost of the 5K / 10K Race?
- A.Cost for both the 5K and 10K is $20 until Sunday, April 7, 2013 and you will be guaranteed a t-shirt and gift bag. Starting on Monday, April 8, 2013, the cost increases to $25 and a t-shirt and gift bag will be in limited supply. We will also offer a family packet for 2 adults and 2 children under 18 for $65 until April 7. The family pack price also increases on Monday, April 8 to $85. So be sure to register early!
- Q?How is the race being timed?
- A.We have the state-of-the-art Chronotrack timing system in place for this race. Participants will wear a bib number with a timing chip already affixed. As runners and walkers cross the start and finish line, they will run over a mat that contains a sensor that recognizes and records each runner and walker’s ‘chip time.’ Bib numbers must be attached to the FRONT of your shirt in order for them to accurately record your time.
- Q?Do I have to worry about returning my timing chip at the end of the race?
- A.No! What is great about this new-and-improved timing system is that the chips themselves are disposable and you do not have to return them after the race!
- Q?Where does the race start and finish?
- A.The race will start and finish at the OCC World Headquarters, 14 Crossroads Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. Check the website for further course details.
- Q?Can I walk in the OCC 5K/10K?
- A.Yes, though walkers are welcome in the 5K race only.
- Q?Can I run or walk with my dog?
- A.While this event is benefiting the Hudson Valley SPCA, we please ask that you don’t bring your dog or cat for their safety and for the safety of the runners/participants.
- Q?Will there be a bag-check facility?
- A.There is no bag check, so please plan accordingly.
- Q?Where is the water stop?
- A.There will be 2-3 water stations along the course.
- Q?Will there be an awards ceremony?
- A.Yes! We will have an awards ceremony post-race honoring the following: Overall top 3 male runners and top 3 female runners, top 3 walkers, awards for 1st place finishes both male and female in the following age brackets: 12 and under 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
- Q?Can I get a refund if I register but don’t run?
- A.Unfortunately, there will be NO REFUNDS issued if you register but don’t run! However, if you register and do not run, you may still pick up your race packet and shirt and join us in the fun!
- Q?Is there a rain date?
- A.No! The race will go off rain or shine, so be ready!
- Q?Do you have a training plan you advise?

- Q?Will I be able to pick up my race packet in advance?
- A.Yes, we will be offering race packet pick up the week of April 21st, only for those who have registered prior to April 20th. We will post details closer to the event.
- Q?Can I register on the morning of the race?
- A.We will be offering day-of-registration for $25.00. However, we cannot guarantee a race packet and t-shirt if you register day-of so make it a point to pre-register online at www.orangecountychoppers.com. The family pack registration will not be available on race day.
